Christmas 2007

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did. The whole season is so much more exciting when you have small children. They are just so full of wonder and amazement at everything. The lights, the tree, the gifts, and the real reason we celebrate Christmas. My kids love the story of the best gift of all.....the baby Jesus. We went to the candle light service on Christmas Eve and then got everyone to bed early so they would be well rested for the big day! They got up at about 8 o'clock and we had Rachel's new scooter and helmet sitting out in the living room and Bennett's new Diego rescue pack. (We had got him a scooter too, but after Jeromy put together Rachel's he thought it would be too small for him.) They were pretty excited to say the least. We had pumpkin pancakes for breakfast, and I let them know that today they would be able to eat whatever they wanted. (I knew they would have candy in their stockings at my parents and didn't want to fight all day with them about it!)

We made a quick stop to the hospital to visit a man from our church who had had a heart attack the day before and then we headed to my parent's house. We opened stockings and gifts, ate way too much, and played cards all day. The kids ate a ridiculous amount of sugar and were literally bouncing off the walls. My brother made the comment that Bennett didn't stop eating all day long! It was a wonderful celebration and is such a joy to see my kids so happy.

Wonderful pictures Sam! We had a great Christmas as well. Mike and I both agree that we enjoy Christmas so much more than we did when we where kids. Watching our children is so exciting. We where up before they where on Christmas morning.

Hi! Just curious to know - what is the quote you have taped above your tv? I can't quite read it! Your xmas looked very fun :)

Hi Sarah!

The quote is Psalm 101:3
I will set nothing wicked before my eyes.

It is a nice reminder when we go to turn it on.

We did have a wonderful Christmas, so fun!!!

Ah yes, such a good reminder. We will be getting rid of the tv (well, cable really, the tv can still be used for select dvd's!)for the new year. There's just way, WAY too much trash on these days. Even some of the ads for goodness sakes!
